The decision to convert the temporary Covid hospital into a permanent healthcare fa
cility was made to meet the growing healthcare needs of the region. Construction work has been underway for several months, with recent efforts from MP Dr. Srikant Shinde ensuring the completion of the project. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde emphasized that this hospital will not only benefit Ulhasnagar but also neighboring cities, reducing the need for residents to travel to Thane for urgent medical care. The hospital boasts facilities that rival those of private hospitals, offering free treatment to all patients.
MP Dr. Srikant Shinde confirmed that there will be no fee counters anywhere in the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation hospital, ensuring accessibility to all. Additionally, plans are underway to soon open a labor hospital in Ulhasnagar for the welfare of workers.
The hospital, constructed by the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation, features a 32-bed intensive care unit and a total of 200 beds. Free healthcare services will be provided to yellow and orange ration card holders. The facility includes five well-equipped surgery rooms, along with advanced diagnostic services such as X-ray, City Scan, 2D echo, sonography, and cath lab. The hospital aims to conduct 46 major surgeries and 1,200 miscellaneous surgeries under various government healthcare schemes. With round-the-clock doctor availability, air-conditioned rooms, and nutritious meals, the hospital aims to provide quality healthcare on par with private institutions.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Kapil Patil, Minister Ravindra Chavan, MLA Kumar Ailani, Dr. Balaji Kinikar, and Ulhasnagar Municipal Commissioner Aziz Shaikh.
