Kalyan: The Public Works Department under Mumbai Urban Infrastructure has embarked on road concreting projects worth Rs. 50 crores in the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipality. Notably, the Municipal Administration has accorded its consent for these crucial infrastructural enhancements in the Kalyan region. Municipal Commissioner Dr. Indurani Jakhar has provided the requisite no objection for the road construction endeavors.
Under the expansive purview of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority's extended urban infrastructure framework, approximately Rs. 1200 crores' worth of road projects are underway within the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipality. As part of this comprehensive initiative, the Public Works Department has undertaken the construction of internal roads near Kalyan city, facilitating smoother connectivity and enhancing transportation infrastructure.
The Municipal Commissioner's approval underscores the government's commitment to addressing longstanding concerns related to road maintenance and infrastructure development. Dr. Jakhar's decision ensures that the Public Works Department assumes full responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of these newly constructed roads.
These infrastructural upgrades are expected to ameliorate the condition of dilapidated roads that have remained neglected for years. With Dombivli MLA and Public Works Minister Ravindra Chavan overseeing the department, significant strides have already been made in enhancing road infrastructure across the region. The completion of concrete road works in Dombivli over the past eighteen months reflects the government's proactive approach towards infrastructure development.
