Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to Skip ED Summons in Money Laundering Case : ‘Modi-ji’s plan to arrest’

NEW DELHI:  Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has decided not to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for the fifth time in a money laundering case linked to the scrapped Delhi excise policy. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) called the summons 'illegal' and accused the ED of trying to arrest Kejriwal.

The ED issued a fresh summons on Wednesday after Kejriwal skipped four earlier ones over the past four months. The AAP alleges that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is behind the repeated summons, aiming to destabilize the
AAP government in Delhi. Kejriwal is set to participate in an AAP protest outside the BJP headquarters in New Delhi at 11 am today.

The case revolves around the Delhi government's excise policy for 2021-22, accused of favoritism and bribery. The AAP denies these allegations. The excise policy was scrapped, and a CBI probe was recommended, leading to the ED registering a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Despite the ED summons, Kejriwal remains firm in his decision not to comply, escalating political tensions between the AAP and the BJP.
