Satara Lok Sabha: BJP Considering Ticket Cut for Udayanraje? Mahajan Affirms, 'No Need for Kings to Seek Tickets'

Satara:
Amidst the political turmoil surrounding the Grand Alliance, MP Udayanraje Bhosale finds himself at the center of speculation regarding his ticket from Satara. However, BJP leader Girish Mahajan has emphasized that there is no necessity for Udayanraje to request a ticket, nor is there any intention to deny him one.

With negotiations ongoing between the three parties within the Grand Alliance over seat allocation, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar are engaged in discussions with the Parliamentary Board in Delhi. Girish Mahajan expressed confidence that amidst these negotiations, Udayanraje's ticket will be decided, and the next list will be released shortly.

Mahajan's statement comes following his meeting with MP Udayanraje Bhosale at Jalmandir Palace in Satara. During the hour-long closed-door discussion, Mahajan emphasized the importance of utilizing Udayanraje's influence to maximize votes for the party in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The meeting also focused on strategizing Udayanraje's campaign across Maharashtra.

Addressing concerns about Udayanraje's absence from BJP's previous candidate lists, Mahajan reiterated that the final decision on candidature rests with the Parliamentary Board, and there is no question of rejecting his ticket. Mahajan emphasized that the ongoing tensions stem from negotiations over seat allocation among the alliance partners.

Regarding Udayanraje's potential exclusion from the ticket, Mahajan assured that such a scenario would not arise. He likened the situation to previous instances where prominent leaders' names were absent from initial candidate lists but were eventually accommodated. Mahajan emphasized that the decision-making process is underway and will be concluded soon.

Responding to concerns about potential dissent within the Maratha community if Udayanraje's ticket is dropped, Mahajan reaffirmed the commitment to democracy, stating that anyone has the right to file nominations. He emphasized that the party has no objection to nominations from any quarter.

Mahajan concluded by stating that his visit aimed at addressing various issues and resolving questions through discussions. He emphasized the importance of dialogue in resolving disputes and reiterated his commitment to engaging in constructive discussions.

The situation surrounding Udayanraje's candidacy remains fluid, with further developments expected as negotiations within the Grand Alliance progress.
